Fourth of July Forecast: Very Nice

Fourth of July celebrations going on today should go off without a hitch as high pressure remains our dominant weather feature.  Mostly sunny skies will continue throughout the afternoon with a light breeze from the southeast.  Look for highs today to reach the upper 80s.  If you plan on going out to any parades, backyard BBQ's or local swimming areas just make sure you put on plenty of sunscreen.

By the time the Rockford parade starts at 7pm tonight, temperatures will have fallen off into the low 80s and by fireworks time, the low 70s.  So maybe just a light jacket or sweatshirt.   Don't forget, if you can't make it out this evening for the Rockford parade or fireworks show at Davis Park, tune into WTVO Channel 17 for our exclusive coverage of the parade and fireworks starting at 8pm tonight!

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th!!
