Friday Morning Weather Update

8:30am Update: The main line of storms is now east of Rockford moving into western McHenry and DeKalb counties.  Noticing a little bit of shear (changing of winds) out ahead of this line.  It could create a few strong gusts along that leading edge as it continues to move east.  We'll continue to monitor it in the weather center.

A line of thunderstorms now moving into the Rockford Metro, points north and southwest this morning will provide heavy rainfall and gusty winds.  It looks pretty dark outside and that's because of this line of storms.  Once it passes within the next 30 to 45 minutes, lighter rain showers will follow.  If you have any storm reports email them to: cking@wtvo.com
