Flash Flood Watch Issued

7pm Update: The NWS offices out of Milwaukee and the Quad Cities are also on board with this Flash Flood Watch. Green and Rock counties are under this watch through tomorrow morning. Stephenson, Jo Daviess, Carroll, and Whiteside counties are in this watch through tomorrow afternoon.

In anticipation of the rainfall expected the next 36 hours the Chicago NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch to go into effect at 4pm this afternoon and last through 1pm Thursday.  Some locations this morning received several inches of rainfall, mainly northeast of here, from the storms this morning.

Conditions will be watched out west across Iowa later today.  Depending on where the storms develop will help determine further development across our area this evening.

  1. How many inches of rain do you expect for Rockford out of this in the next 24 hours??

  2. Always a tough call to make. To me it appears southern Wisconsin will bear the brunt of the 1-2"+ totals, but feel that 0.75" to 1" is a good bet in Rockford.
