Cooler Week Ahead!

For those of you that have been waiting for fall-like temperatures - they are on their way!  The storm system that is pushing though our area this evening has the first true fall-level temperatures behind it - this is the same storm that dropped snow earlier this week in the Rocky Mountains.  Even though we had very warm air in front of the storm and humidity that made it feel like a summer day, big changes are on the way.

As the above graphic shows, temperatures for the majority of the upcoming week will be below normal for a change.  The normal high for today is 71 degrees and by the end of the week, the normal high will have dropped to 69 degrees - big changes for this time of year!  In addition to a big drop in temperatures on Monday, winds will be very strong as well - running 15 to 25 miles per hour from the west with some gusts over 30 mph - welcome Fall!

The Climate Prediction Center is still predicting a warmer-than-average fall for the Stateline area, so even though the cool temperatures may give way to above average temperatures in the future, it will be a refreshing change to the recent warm and humid conditions.  Have a great start to your week!
