A Taste of Spring

This is what we were greeted with heading into the afternoon.  Isolated snow showers taking over the Stateline, with lighter snow elsewhere.  Luckily the moderate snow showers stayed isolated, so most of us more than likely saw around half an inch, with an inch of snow at most.  The snow is now gone, and fortunately we won't be seeing it again for a while.

As we head into Sunday a low pressure system will move in from the west.  However, the warm front will stay up north in Wisconsin, so all we have to deal with is warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine!  This warm end to the weekend is just the beginning for the spring-like warmth that's right around the corner.

That low pressure system will end up warming us into the low 50's by the time we reach Monday.  Spring will definitely make a presence that day, as heavy rain showers will be expected alongside those 50° temperatures.  Lingering instability will bring another round of showers on Tuesday, where temperatures will stay fairly warm in the upper 40's.

Even though the warmer weather will be nice next week, it does come with a consequence.....flooding concerns.  The abnormally warm air on Monday will quickly melt the remaining snow, adding a good amount of liquid to the ground.

On top of that will be heavy rain showers, so these two factors could lead to some flooding Monday night, and with the extra round of rain on Tuesday, that'll only add to the ground liquid, so definitely be mindful of the flooding potential that'll be present as we head into the work week.

Afterwards, sunshine is expected mid-week, with temperatures slightly cooling off into the mid to upper 30's.  Another chance for light rain arrives Friday, with sunshine looking probable next Saturday.
