Snow Meltage May Lead to Minor Flooding Next Week

What started as a beautiful Valentine's Day afternoon with sunshine and temperatures in the low 40's, turned into this.  Dense Fog quickly rushed in to kill the nice atmosphere (no pun intended).  Sadly the dense fog will stay with us through tomorrow morning, so you may want to have a romantic dinner at home because road conditions will stay poor through the night.

Once we get into tomorrow morning, we'll have a wintry mix to deal with on top of the fog.  A low pressure system will track down from the north and bring a cold front through the area after 6am, which will allow for the wintry mix to occur during the morning commute.

The wintry mix and dense fog will allow for messy road conditions and poor visibility, so you'll definitely want to leave early for your commute because it'll take some time to get into work.  Also keep in mind that the warmer temperatures will allow for a little snow to melt, which will keep the roads slick; something else to keep in mind tomorrow morning.

Once we get to mid-day, we'll have some drizzle lingering in our area, but then we'll be dry once we get to late afternoon.  However, we do hang on to the foggy conditions through the afternoon.

Once we get into Thursday night, a high pressure system will move in from the west, pushing colder air back into our area, but luckily it won't last long.

Once we go through the weekend another low pressure system will move in to warm us back up.  This will bring us into the low 40's again by Monday, but will also bring some rain showers.  Even though it'll be warmer, flooding will be a concern with the warm temperatures AND the rain showers, so do be prepared for some isolated minor flooding next week.
