Monday Morning Snow

The majority of the snow is exiting the area, but isolated snow showers will be possible over the next couple of hours. As temperatures climb rain will begin to mix in, but will stay widely scattered in nature.

With temperatures still below freezing, patches of black ice are possible due to wet pavement. Most of the snow that has fallen, has mainly accumulated on grassy surfaces and melted on the 'warmer' pavement. However, refreezing due to cold temperatures is possible, and has caused a few accidents. You'll want to take it slow as temperatures slowly warm this morning.

Highs will climb into the 40's this afternoon, but a mix of rain and snow is still possible as colder air moves in aloft. Visibility will also be lowered due to the falling snow through the morning and into the afternoon. Most of northern Illinois received between one to two inches of snow from overnight and early this morning.
