Wednesday Evening Update

10:05pm Update: Rain showers have become a little more steady over much of Stephenson County, now moving into western Winnebago County.  There could be a couple rumbles of thunder with some of the heavier rain showers.  Rain totals will add up to roughly a quarter of an inch - slightly higher amounts under heavier rain showers/thunderstorms.

Rain showers have become more widespread of much of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin Wednesday evening.  A warm front lies just south of a line from Dubuque, Rockford and Chicago and has been the focal point for more widespread rain activity.

The warm front will remain over much of northern Illinois through the overnight, keeping the rain in place through Midnight.  Winds will begin to increase just a couple thousand feet above the surface and this could lead to a few embedded thunderstorms close to Midnight, or a little after.  Severe weather is not expected.
