A Tale of Two Seasons

We're on a temperature roller coaster this week.  Sunday is the only day that had average high temps, topping off officially at 79° at Rockford International Airport.  Early in the week, expect blistering temps with index values getting into the upper 90s by Tuesday. In fact, just northwest of the Stateline, heat advisories are in effect.

By late week, a powerful cold front will usher in cooler air allowing temps to feel very Fall-like, dipping down into the upper 40s by Friday morning.
