All signs continue to point to a big warm up by the end of the week - keying in specifically on Thursday-Saturday.
Following a few thunderstorms for the first half of the week a strong ridge of high pressure will bring unseasonable warmth to the Stateline. The first of which will arrive on Thursday. Right now the forecast high for Thursday is 91 degrees. That's with a slight chance for thunderstorms along the leading edge of the ridge of high pressure. If, however, those showers don't pan out high temperatures will rise into the middle 90's. The upper 90's are possible Friday with the strongest part of the jet stream riding to the north.
A cold front will slowly slide south through Wisconsin on Saturday. But not before temperatures once again reach the low 90's. As the front passes showers and thunderstorms will be likely later Saturday, and possibly into Sunday. Following the front a little more comfortable air mass will be pulled in place.
With an increasing dew point all three days, the heat index could reach over 100 degrees causing the heat to become dangerous.
