A Week of Extremes to Start off March

Even though there was a little rain to start off the month of March, temperatures actually warmed above average last Thursday afternoon, remaining above average through the weekend.  But a strong cold front came through Monday not only bringing with it rain and snow, but a much cooler air mass.

Temperatures the past four days have remained below average, nearly fifteen degrees below average for some.  The low pressure system that brought us the rain/snow mix earlier this week has moved up the East Coast, leaving temperatures over much of the Midwest struggling to make it above 40 degrees.

Temperatures will warm heading into the weekend, back into the 40's and closer to average, but an even bigger warm up could be in store one week from today.  Forecast models suggest we begin to break down this cool pattern as a ridge of high pressure moves through the middle of the country. This could help push temperatures back up near 50 degrees by the middle to end of next week.
