We've been watching another low pressure system that will make it's way across the Midwest this weekend. One low pressure system will strengthen over Oklahoma and will move east, following a frontal boundary. This will spread rain across Texas, and then north into southern Illinois this weekend. A secondary low will move across the Northern Plains, bringing another round of snow across Minnesota, the Dakotas, Montana, and central portions of the Plains..
Early this week, models advertised more moisture present over the Midwest along with an incoming trough that would bring extra lift. That threatened another chance for snow or a rain snow mix for the Stateline. But now several models limit the moisture in our area, trapping it south, tied to the low pressure over Oklahoma. There could be a bit of a wintry mix over Iowa, and maybe even as far east as the Mississippi to potentially the Freeport area. Generally though the Stateline looks to stay dry this weekend, with temperatures finally climbing into the 40's. If any precipitation does fall, it would be rather light and not last long Sunday morning.
