Temperatures Tuesday afternoon only warmed into the low 40's, quite a bit cooler than what we were hoping for, for the first day of Spring.
Cloud cover has thickened up quite a bit Tuesday evening with skies remaining cloudy through Wednesday morning. High pressure moves in Wednesday and Thursday which should help to clear the skies and warm temperatures back up near 50 degrees.
By the start of the weekend an area of low pressure will move in from the west but track south of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Winds will increase from the East quite a bit bringing temperatures down into the low 40's and possibly even upper 30's during the day.
The warm front associated with the low pressure system falls short of reaching the Stateline Friday night and Saturday, but the moisture doesn't. This could lead to a mix of rain and snow late Friday evening and night, possibly carrying over into Saturday morning. Right now it looks like the heaviest precipitation may remain just to our west and should be done and to the south by Saturday evening.
