Daylight Savings Begins and a Spring Preview

You can't ask for a better start to the weekend, hitting the low 40's under sunny skies WITHOUT having to deal with wind chill.  We even got to see some color in the sky during the sunset, a nice way to close out the day.  Clouds will increase heading into the night, as a mid-level trough will be passing by our area tonight.

That mid-level trough will bring snow showers through Iowa, but luckily those will stay out of our area.  The western portion of our viewing area will see some flurries tonight, but other than that we stay dry heading through the night.  Also, since that mid-level trough will increase our cloud cover overnight, temperatures will only cool to the upper 20's.

That mid-level trough will keep us cloudy Sunday morning, but after it moves out mid-day a high pressure system will make its way towards our area during the afternoon, which will help break up the clouds and give us more sunshine to end the weekend.  We'll also hit the low 40's again Sunday afternoon as well.

As we head into the work week, that high pressure system will bring cool, dry air into our area.  The dry air will help keep the sunshine around, which will help us to maintain temperatures near 40° to start the work week.

By the end of the week, another high will move in, this time from the south.  This will bring us not only sunshine, but also bring warmer air into our area, warming us up to the 50's!  We'll hit the mid 50's by the end of the week.

A reminder to switch the clocks FORWARD one hour Sunday morning at 2am.  We lose the hour of sleep, but it'll be nice getting that preview of spring by the end of next week.
