It's a slow go for many this morning as the snow continues to fall. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Boone, McHenry and Walworth counties until 9am this morning. Most of the Stateline will see near or under a half inch accumulation, but in the advisory area totals could climb to 1-2". Overnight under a half inch of snow fell, but its enough to cause slick roads, along with the potential for black ice.
Take it slow this morning, as snow continues through lunch. Light and isolated snow showers are possible later in the day, but most will stay dry.
Visibility will drop as snow falls and winds pick up, northwest winds are already sustained at 10-15 mph, and will gust near 30 mph.
Roads are getting slick, especially in Boone county, so make sure to take it slow. Many roads in Boone county are snow or ice covered per IDOT.
