It was a cloudy, chilly, and breezy end to our work week...not exactly ideal, but luckily the sunshine allowed for some nice scenery to end the work week. Our skies will continue clearing heading into the overnight, and this will cause our temperatures to cool off quite a bit, and cool off fast, especially with northerly winds pushing through our area.
This high pressure system will keep the cold air coming in, and will bring temperatures down into the upper teens during the overnight. On top of that, it'll also be breezy, so wind chills will end up being in the single digits, as low as 3°.
Luckily, that high will keep our skies clear for Saturday, allowing us to enjoy some sunshine and to better deal with the colder temperatures.
Our next system moves in on Sunday, and we'll be mostly cloudy during the day, with chances for snow kicking in once we head into Sunday evening. However, accumulations will stay on the small side.
This low will also bring some light snow on Monday, and accumulations will stay small for that as well.
We have been stuck in the cold for quite some time. In the past 17 days, only 2 of those days have seen temperatures at average, with 15 days being below average. Not a single one of those days were we seeing temperatures above average.
The good news is, a big pattern change next week will allow some warmer air to filter back into our area. We've just got to deal with the colder temperatures for a few more days, then spring-like temperatures will be back in our area for the middle of next week.
