Monday Storm Update & September Recap

Looking back on the month of September, we started off rather wet with seven days of measurable rainfall. That all changed just before I (Meteorologist Ryan Belz) came to town. I brought some dry weather for much of the middle of the month. In the end, we managed to come up with 5.57" of rain. That is over 2" above average.
The month of September had more days of above average temperatures, but it was a roller coaster ride. Up and down we went, with 17 days of above average temperatures and 12 days of below average temperatures.

Temperatures will continue to be on a roller coaster ride to start off October. Expect highs today in the lower 70s, then mid-upper 60s Tuesday and then lower 80s Wednesday. Hold on tight because the roller coaster ride isn't giving up anytime soon.

The chance for some strong to severe storms exists this afternoon and into the early evening hours. The NWS's Severe Weather Prediction Center has placed us in a slight risk for severe storms.

An isolated tornado and some areas of hail cannot be ruled out, but the biggest threats will be damaging winds and heavy rain with these storms.

These storms will begin to move through around 4pm and going through the early evening hours (8/9pm), as you can see from the following images.
