Temperature Roller Coaster, Rainfall Update and Hurricane Michael Update

The First Warn Weather Temperature Roller Coaster we have been on is going to be taking a nose dive late this week. Today we will be well above average in the low 80s. Our average for this time of the year should be in the mid 60s. By Thursday and Friday highs will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Our weather headlines, what we are tracking:
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for western portions of the viewing area tonight and into tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon. This is because we are expecting more rain on already saturated and flooded areas.
Another warm and humid day today with highs in the lower 80s, but then a cool down late week. Expect highs down into the upper 40s and lower 50s, while lows will be in the low to mid 30s.

More rain is expected tonight and into tomorrow (Wednesday), but we definitely do not need any more this month. We are only 8 days in, and we have already exceeded our average for the month of October. So far we have received 3.68", and our average is usually 2.67".

Looking back over the year so far, we have received 43.18". That's 11.5" over our average. To say we have received our fair share rain would be an understatement.

As for Hurricane Michael, it is now a Category 2 hurricane with maximum winds at 100mph. It is quickly tracking towards the Florida Panhandle at 12mph.

On infrared radar, you can see an eye trying to form. This indicates strengthening, and that is exactly what is projected.

It should make landfall near Panama City and Apalachicola Wednesday afternoon as a Category 3 hurricane with maximum sustained winds near 120mph. The biggest threats will be the damaging storm surge, heavy rain and winds.
