We have seen a mix of partly to mostly cloudy skies this morning. Overnight and early this morning we've seen a few flurries popping up on satellite/radar across the Stateline.
As of 6am, skies have begun to turn mainly clear across the area. The clearing skies have allowed temperatures to drop slightly. As of last check, we are down to 7° in Rockford.
Wind chills this morning are in the negatives yet again, similar to yesterday morning. But instead of wind chills in the -20° to -30° range like Monday morning, wind chills today are anywhere from -5° to -15°.
Winds are going to remain blustery today. Expect gusts to be upwards of 25-30mph during the late morning and afternoon hours. So make sure you bundle up because it is going to be another chilly and breezy one.
The partly to mostly cloudy skies last night provided for a beautiful sunset. Take a look at this beautiful picture Ann Kenney sent in from Scarboro of the sunset.
If you are sick and tired of all the cold weather... hang on for a few more days. Warm air look to push northward this weekend thanks to a little bit of a ridge in the jet stream. Highs by Friday should top out in the mid 30s, lower 40s Saturday and remaining in the upper 30s Sunday. The warmth does however come with some rain and mixed precipitation.
