A Wind Advisory has been issued for Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee and DeKalb counties beginning Thursday late morning. Wind gusts 45-50 mph are possible throughout the day as a powerful late winter season storm system moves across the middle of the country. Currently, that storm system is bringing damaging wind gusts across much of eastern Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. Colorado Springs recorded a 96 mph wind gust Wednesday afternoon!
Blizzard conditions have been occurring over parts of South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado. As the storm system moves east it'll lose some of its strength, but still continue to bring rain and isolated thunderstorms late Wednesday and Thursday, along with strong winds.
