Skies were mostly clear for much of Monday afternoon but it didn't do much to warm temperatures. Highs had a hard time making it into the double digits area wide, with Rockford only reaching 10 degrees. That's 30 degrees below average!
While we'll remain mostly clear through the evening an increase in cloud cover will occur late Monday night ahead of an upper level disturbance currently moving into the Upper Midwest. Flurries and light snow showers have developed with this low across the Plains and Upper Midwest and will sink south through the night into southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Any accumulations will remain minor but even a very light coating of snow could be enough to cause roads to become a little slippery Tuesday morning. Skies will gradually clear Tuesday afternoon but temperatures will remain in the mid and upper teens.
