First 90 degree day this summer!

I was surprised to see it too! We hit 92 degrees this Wednesday afternoon for the first time since the start of Meteorological Summer on June 1st! It sure feels like we've had a hotter summer than that so far. And in some ways, we HAVE had a hot summer. June 2010 was 1.6 degrees above normal, and July thus far is running just over 2 degrees above normal. (A lot of our warmth seems to have come in the form of muggy nights and steady stretches of highs in the 80s.)

Believe it or not, we had THREE 90 degree days in May this year. Specifically:

May 23rd:  90
May 24th:   93
May 30th:   90

Temperatures will probably be a touch cooler Thursday afternoon with some extra clouds, though 90 degrees is still a possibility.  --TS
