Some isolated thunderstorms developed in marginally unstable air ahead of a disturbance over Minnesota. A thunderstorm that was close to severe limits developed over Stephenson County with half inch hail near Pearl City just before 2 pm this afternoon, and moved through Freeport before diminishing, Another strong thunderstorm moved across Ogle County after 5 pm this evening on a path from near Oregon to just north of Rochelle before diminishing. These were what are called pulse thunderstorms. They develop rapidly, and may reach or cross the threshold on severe limits before rapidly dissipating again. Any isolated t-storms have dissipated with the loss of solar heating at sunset. It looks like most of the rest of the weekend across the Stateline will be nice and warm, but there is a chance of storms late Sunday over far northwest Illinois, and t-storms will be likely across the area Sunday night lingering into Monday morning. Some of those storms could be strong with the possibility of some local heavy rain in spots. Look for a break from storms on Tuesday and Wednesday, when it will turn hotter with highs near 90. Thursday will be hot and humid with a good chance of storms. Those storms will end by early Thursday evening with the passage of a front by nightfall. A bubble of high pressure will build in behind the front so that is looks like skies will be mostly sunny on Friday and Saturday. It will not be cool though with high pressure ridging across the area aloft pushing temperatures into the upper 80's
