The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson, Ogle, and Carroll counties until 2am. This means that conditions are right for the development of rotating thunderstorms which could produce tornadoes. So far, most of the severe and tornadic weather has stayed to the north and west of the Stateline area, but as a line of thunderstorms approaches us from the west this evening, a few supercells may be triggered in advance of this line. We'll keep you posted. --TS
