Heat Advisory Saturday

Stephenson county is under a heat advisory from noon until 9pm Saturday, and other areas in the Stateline region will be very close to meeting heat advisory criteria. Temperatures in the low to mid-90s and heat indicies over 100 degrees will make it dangerous to be in the outdoors for extended periods of time on Saturday afternoon. If you have plans to do any outdoor activities, try to do them early in the morning or after dusk. If you do go outside in the middle of the afternoon, take frequent water breaks and wear sunscreen. Be sure to check on pets, the elderly, and young children as they are especially vulnerable to conditions like this. Have a safe weekend!  --TS
