Slight Risk on Thursday

The Storm Prediction Center out of Norman, OK is forecasting a slight risk of severe weather from the northern Plains to the lower Great Lakes on Thursday. This does include the Stateline area. The main threat around here, in my opinion, will be high winds if severe storms develop in the first place. As of right now, our forecast models are suggesting an area of storms with heavy rain will miss us to the northwest by about 200 miles on Thursday morning. Although a few storms are possible here tomorrow morning, any severe weather will probably stay to our west. There is a chance that a few more storms redevelop in the afternoon, but only if we see enough sunshine to destabalize the atmosphere again. At this point, it looks like the cloud deck won't erode until very late in the afternoon at the earliest. By then, it may be too late for severe storms to develop. But as always, we'll be watching things!  --TS
