Temperatures most of Monday afternoon were in the middle 20's. Winds have remained gusty from the south through most of the afternoon and evening and this will help temperatures warm overnight into Tuesday morning.
Currently, as of 9pm, air temperatures range from 26 to 30 degrees. Light snow from earlier in the evening produced quite a bit of a mess for the late afternoon and evening commute, but now those snow showers have lifted north into Wisconsin.
Additional light snow showers are possible as moisture is pulled north through the overnight. Air temperatures will actually warm above freezing by Tuesday morning, but ground and road temperatures will fall just short. This means that even though when you get in your car Tuesday morning and the thermometer reads above freezing, it could still be slick. Ground temperatures will eventually warm above freezing eliminating the threat for slick conditions.
