Stateline Winter Woes Continue

Given how our winter has been so far, it should be no surprise that the forecast is full of winter hazards over the next seven days. Here's what you need to know to be prepared.

Tonight: Wind Chill Advisory

As of 9:00pm, wind chills were already around -30° for parts of the Stateline. Expect those dangerous chills to stick around through the overnight. Wind chills by Friday morning will lighten, but we're still talking a feel like temperature of -20° to start the day. Fortunately, wind chills become more of a non-factor by Friday afternoon with highs in the low 20s.

Friday: Winter Weather Advisory

Even though the extreme cold is done by Friday afternoon, wind gusts up to 40mph will create a lot of blowing and drifting snow across the viewing area. That is only expected to get worse as our next round of snow moves in Friday evening. We're only expecting an inch or so of accumulation for Friday night, but roads will probably stay messy through Saturday morning because of the wind.

Next Week: Another Cold Snap

Weekend temps will be below average, but the start of next week will make the weekend look almost tropical. Highs on Monday and Tuesday have the chance of not getting out of the negatives. The worst of next week's cold will be Monday night when lows drop close to -20°. -BA
