If you don't have any outdoor activities planned late this week or this weekend, you may want to change that. A very nice weather pattern will establish itself over the country later this week, which will deliver incredibly nice weather for a good portion of the nation. That includes Rockford. The jet stream will be located to our north in Canada, which will set the stage for multiple areas of high pressure to dictate our weather. And, with high pressure in control through Monday, ample sunshine is in the forecast for much of the country, including the Stateline.
Not only that, but with the jet located well to our north, temperatures will remain above average in the 60's through at least the beginning of next week. This type of pattern isn't completely atypical in November, but it is uncommon to see a stretch of 7-10 days in a row with well-above average temperatures and mainly dry conditions in late October and early November. Don't adjust to the sunshine and mild temperatures, though. Long-range forecast models continue to advertise a big-time pattern change sometime during the middle of the month. That pattern change will bring colder air into the Midwest and Great Lakes regions. It's something we are continuing to monitor, but it's nothing to get overly excited about quite yet.
