Warm Valentine's Day...But is it Normal?

We've been feeling like spring recently, and this Valentine's Day is no different! Temperatures today will climb into the low to mid 40's, about ten degrees above the average.

But, is this a rare feat? Well no not really...we've spent 22 Valentine's Days in the 40's. The more common temperature to spend the holiday in is the 30's. In the past 109 years of data, 45 years have been in the 30's.

We don't have to go back far to find the record high temperature, 59° in 2006. You have to go back quite awhile to find the coldest Valentine's day (high temperature) of 10° in 1943!

Typical lows tonight are in the teens and 20's for Valentine's Day, and tonight we'll fall into that average with a low around around 23°. Sixty three of the years have not had any precipitation at all, and this year we'll stay dry as well.
