Heavy Rains Across Rockford....Storms Possible Tuesday Morning...
Heavy rains from slow moving showers caused localized flooding over parts of the Rockford Metro area on Monday evening. Clearing skies overnight will result in locally dense fog, but that will be mainly in rural areas. Temperatures will drop to near 63 degrees.. The main cold front will pass southeast across the area on Tuesday morning scattering some showers and thunderstorms through the Stateline before noon. It will be partly sunny, breezy, and less humid on Tuesday afternoon with a high in the low 80s. Canadian high pressure take control of northern Illinois weather pushing drier and cooler air into the Great Lakes. On Wednesday morning the center of the high will be over southwestern Minnesota producing bright blue skies, and a light northerly wind across northern Illinois. Highs will only reach the upper 70s Wednesday and Thursday with overnight lows in the upper 50's. Quite a change. Enjoy! Our next chance for rain will come Friday and into Saturday. Sunday looks fabulous.
