A Pattern Change This Week... A Nice Change!
A cool front is slipping southward across Illinois tonight. Drier more comfortable air is following in behind it with dew point dropping to the middle 60's across southern Wisconsin. Weak high pressure will settle into central Wisconsin by daybreak. The light winds and mostly clear skies will allow for good radiational cooling overnight, and patchy fog is expected to form after midnight, and may linger in spots until 8 am or so. The overnight low will be cooler...down in the middle 60's. On Monday it will be partly sunny and a little cooler with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the low 80's. Chances of showers and thunderstorms will continue through Monday and Tuesday as another cool front moves across the area. It will be mostly clear and cooler on Tuesday night with temperatures dropping into the upper 50's giving us some real relief from the heat. The air conditioners will get a break from almost constant use for more than a month. High pressure from Canada with provide the Stateline one of the most pleasant days in a long time on Wednesday with full sunshine, bright blue skies, comfortable humidity levels, a light northerly wind, and afternoon temperatures in the upper 70's. Thursday will be much the same as the high pressure moves from Wisconsin to Michigan. Weather disturbances will once again bring chances of showers and thunderstorms back into the picture from Thursday night off and on through Saturday. Temperatures will remain at comfortable levels from the end of the week right through next weekend. Next Sunday looks like it will be sunny with a high in the upper 70's.
