Remembering Joplin Two Years Later

Wednesday marks the two year anniversary of the Joplin tornado, one of the most deadly and expensive tornadoes in U.S. history.

Here's a look at the tornado's track. The storm developed just west of Joplin, with winds reaching EF-5 status (200+ mph) by the time the twister moved through town. This was the deadliest tornado in modern history (Since 1950) and the 7th deadliest tornado in U.S. history. This was also the costliest tornado ever with $2.8 billion worth of damage.
