The quiet weather from Friday will turn a little more active over the weekend and early next week. A warm front at the surface, as well as at roughly 5,000ft, will remain just to the southwest of N. IL this weekend becoming the focus for thunderstorm - especially at night. While we'll likely experience many dry hours through the weekend a few isolated showers/storms could develop early in the day and then again at night.
A greater threat for storms will arrive late Sunday as the warm front begins to lift north into Wisconsin. If you plan on heading out to any festivals or parades this weekend it will be a little cooler as cloud cover both Saturday and Sunday will likely keep temperatures in the lower 60s.
