Skies have partially cleared after thunderstorms moved through very early Monday morning. Skies will remain quiet through midday with thunderstorms likely developing just to the west and southwest of Illinois early this afternoon. Skies have cleared in Iowa and northern Missouri and with the strongest winds in the Jetstream located in that area storms shouldn't have much trouble developing today. Damaging wind gusts as well as hail will remain the primary threats with any thunderstorms with the threat for tornadoes remains small, but not zero.
The Storm Prediction Center continues to place the Stateline under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms later today with a moderate risk for storms across Missouri and Oklahoma. The mostly likely timeframe for storms to develop will be between 2pm-4pm with increasing coverage expected later this evening. Make sure you have a way to receive warnings today as the severe threat is slightly higher than what it was Sunday. Updates will continue through the morning with a complete weather analysis coming out early afternoon.
