Light showers from this morning are now moving into Wisconsin with skies remaining mostly cloudy through the afternoon. Low pressure in northwest Missouri will move through Illinois later this afternoon/evening pulling a cold front through as it does. Thunderstorms have been developing in central and southern Illinois in an atmosphere that is a little more unstable than that across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. However, as the low moves east into Illinois this afternoon a few thunderstorms will be likely across the Stateline, especially right along and ahead of the low and surface boundary.
The greatest threat for severe weather will remain south of the Stateline where better instability and higher dew points are found. Even though the severe threat will remain low, heavy rainfall will be possible with any storms that do move through. Updates for this afternoon will continue right here should they be needed.
