While models are still coming together on what exactly will happen this weekend, there are a few things we can tell you as of right now:
1. We will see some kind of winter weather this weekend.
2. It will have an impact on your weekend plans, especially Saturday night and Sunday.
With that being said, what we're trying to figure at the moment is how big of an impact this storm will have. That all depends on the movement of the storm.
A few of the latest models from Wednesday afternoon have this weekend storm system moving further north and close to Chicago by Sunday morning. One model in particular (The Canadian GEM model) has this same system staying further to our south.
As we talked about on Tuesday, a northern track would mean a more significant winter storm for us. This kind of storm track would more than likely result in a wintry mix on Saturday night and a significant snowfall on Sunday. If the southern track holds up, we would probably be talking more of an all snow event, with less significant snow totals through the day on Sunday.
We will learn much more about this system over the next 24 hours and should know for certain what is going to happen by Friday. Stay tuned... we'll keep you updated until then! -BA
