Sunday's snowfall yielded between 2" and 3" for most across the Stateline. High pressure moving in this morning has helped clear the cloud cover from overnight, but with a gusty west wind we won't warm much despite the sunshine this afternoon.
A quick moving clipper system will zip to the north Tuesday bringing a few flurries/light snow showers with it, but this shouldn't amount to much. The bigger story for Tuesday will be the wind. As low pressure strengthens in Wisconsin Tuesday, winds will first increase from the southwest before switching the to the west Tuesday afternoon. With potential wind gusts up to 30 mph wind chills won't rise above 0° for the afternoon. Bottom line, Tuesday will be a very blustery day!
Another clipper type system will move in Tuesday night/Wednesday morning bringing with it another fresh coating of snow by Wednesday afternoon and yet another reinforcing shot of colder air. This pattern will remain in place through at least this weekend, if not beyond. Models begin to differ a bit on the pattern for the weekend, but it looks like low pressure will develop in the southern branch of the jet stream Friday across the southern Plains. This low will then move northeast, just how far north is still in question, but with moisture moving in from the south and the cold in place across the Great Lakes it does look like we'll see a little more snow for the weekend.
