Winter Impact Forecast

With our next round of snow moving in later tonight, it's looking likely that Wednesday morning's commute will be a messy one. Here's the latest forecast with everything you need to know over the next 24 hours.

TIMING: Snow will move in after midnight and continue through Wednesday morning. Futurecast shows plenty of snow still falling as many people are getting ready for work. Snowfall rates could hit 0.5" an hour at times during the morning.

AMOUNTS: Generally speaking, 1-3" of snow will be possible for the viewing area through Wednesday morning, although some locally higher amounts of 4" will be possible, especially for our southern counties.

MAIN CONCERNS: While the timing of the snow during the morning rush will be the biggest concern, temperatures in the low and mid teens Wednesday morning could make it difficult for salt trucks to melt snow on the roadways. Blowing and drifting snow will also become an issue as winds pick up later in the day. -BA
