Winter storm warnings have been issued for the entire Stateline in anticipation for the heaviest snowfall of the season. 5-9" are expected starting Saturday evening and lingering through Sunday morning.
Throughout the day Saturday, we'll see some scattered rain/snow showers, but as temps fall during the evening hours, we'll see a wet and heavy snow pick up.
Here's the breakdown of the storm. We'll be under a Moderate Weatherisk Saturday morning and afternoon because roads will still be very slick due to Friday's icing event. In the afternoon, our chances for some rain and snow mix will grow. By Saturday evening through the overnight, the snow will be falling quite heavily. At that point we'll be under a High Weatherisk. Travel is not advised.
On Sunday during the AM hours, snow will continue to fall quite heavily. We'll still be under a High Weatherisk. The snow will taper off in the afternoon, but the roads will still be very dangerous to travel on, especially residential and rural roads. - MT
