A Taste of Winter Weather with Warmth On the Way

We had another day in the 30's, but only a few areas in the western portion of our viewing area hitting the 40° mark.  Most of us got into the upper 30's, so at least it was a little bit warmer than yesterday in the low 30's.  Temperatures luckily don't change a whole lot during the overnight, as we'll only cool to around 33°.  However, since temperatures will be near freezing, this is going to help drive that rain/snow mix that'll be moving through our area

We're starting to see some isolated areas of that wintry mix in the western portion of our viewing area.  By 9pm, we'll start to see that wintry mix move further into the Stateline area, before becoming more scattered during the overnight.  If you have plans to go out late tonight, be sure to drive with precaution, because this wintry mix will cause the roads to be slick in a few spots.

The wintry mix will stay with us through tomorrow morning, and with the moisture content in our atmosphere, we could see some light fog early tomorrow morning.  The wintry mix will begin dying down during the afternoon, and by 3pm we may see some drizzle and a few flurries, but by then we should mostly be dry and cloudy, with temperatures staying in the mid 30's.

That snowman is us walking around in this cold weather.  We've been dealing with winter-like weather recently with the 30° highs and overnights in the 20°s and teens.  We actually haven't seen our average temperatures in the past 16 days.  We've been staying well below it, only hitting 50° on November 5th, and even that was below average.

Luckily, we have a pattern change coming up next week.  Once we get to Monday evening, a high pressure system will move from west of our area to east of our area.  This will allow it to start pulling in warmer air, which will bring us into the 40's starting on Tuesday.  We do have a chance for seeing 50° on Wednesday, but we'll mostly be in the 40's next week.  But hey, that's still better than the 30's!
