Foggy Sunday Evening

Visibility Sunday evening has fallen below two miles in a few spots over northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.  Cloud cover is still pretty thick over much of the area, holding the fog in this evening.

Skies are clear west of the Mississippi River, but there has also been some developing fog noted on surface observations over Iowa.  I think with some of the residual moisture we have left in our atmosphere from the drizzle, rain and snow from earlier, fog will likely continue or redevelop by sunrise Monday.  Forecast models are suggesting the fog will become locally dense, with visibility falling under one mile.

Temperatures may drop below freezing for a time and this could cause a few icy spots early in the morning.
