Another cold day across the Stateline, and these colder temperatures
helped mix in some light snow with the rainfall earlier today. Some
areas in the eastern portion of our viewing area ended up seeing a light
accumulation. Flurries were seen elsewhere amidst the rain. We stay
dry now, but those temperatures will be taking a big drop as we go
through the overnight.
As we go through the night, clouds will start to break up and colder air will continue piling in from the north. These two factors will allow our temperatures to drop, and drop quickly. Along with that, it'll also be a little breezy tonight, which will cause wind chill temperatures to really make a presence. We'll dip to the low 20's during the overnight, but those wind chill temperatures will be between 7-10°. Definitely bundle up if going out tonight, because it will be cold and get cold quickly.
The cold air will be staying in our area through the end of the weekend, but the good news is we'll get more sunshine to end the weekend! This will be really nice, especially after all the cloudy and gloomy days we've been dealing with. However, once we get into the work week, this high pressure system will track eastward into Tennessee. With this position, it'll be able to pull some warm air into our area.
Once that happens, our temperatures will climb into the upper 40's Monday afternoon! And because it's a high pressure system influencing us, we also get to keep the sunshine! Sunshine and Warmth for Monday, but temperatures will drop back into the low 40's to low 30's afterwards for Tuesday and Wednesday.....but we get to keep the sunshine!
As for Thanksgiving, the sunshine will sticking around, but temperatures are looking to only be around 40°, so unfortunately Thanksgiving will be chilly, but at least it'll be sunny for the holiday.
Luckily, another warmup is looking to take place towards the end of the week, possibly seeing around 50° by Friday and a sunnier start to next weekend.
