After a sunny and relatively warm Friday in the Stateline, some changes are on the way this weekend. Primarily in the form of cloud cover, as clouds will thicken up through the night and into tomorrow. Much of Saturday will feature mostly cloudy to overcast skies, but we will remain dry throughout much of Saturday's daytime hours.
A few spotty showers may reach the Stateline as soon as Saturday afternoon, but dry air in the lower levels will limit how much rain will reach the surface until after sunset when better moisture arrives. Between 6PM-12AM will be the main window for scattered showers, with plenty of dry time between showers.
Additional rainfall may be possible through Sunday morning as the core of the system passes just to our North. Limited moisture and distance from the center of the low will limit rainfall across Northern Illinois, but Southern Wisconsin and far Northern Illinois may receive some additional sprinkles and light showers through Sunday afternoon before clouds clear out into the evening.
All told, many spots will not see much rainfall accumulation, though. Most locations will see less than 0.25" of rain in total. Not enough to close the rainfall deficit in Rockford, which now stands at 3.19" below average since September 1st.
Temperatures remain mild over the weekend with highs in the 50s and lows in the 40s. We dry out for Monday and Tuesday with a cooler overnight Monday into Tuesday morning, before our next weather system mid-week.
