Sunshine, warming temperatures round out the work week

Stubborn clouds kept temperatures cool Wednesday, leaving afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Thursday begins with a fall-like chill as clearing skies overnight left temperatures 5°-15° cooler, placing most locales in the upper 30s. Make sure to grab a jacket before heading out.

Along with this morning's chill comes the potential for areas of patchy fog. Be on the lookout for that if you plan to be out for the early-drive. If any fog were to develop this morning, it will quickly give way to a partly to mostly sunny sky. Afternoon highs get a nice boost thanks to today's sunshine as well as today's light westerly wind, landing in the upper 50s. Overnight lows get chilly once again, landing in the upper 30s under a few passing clouds.

Friday will be a carbon copy of Thursday, though temperatures will be slightly warmer landing closer to the 60° mark. Cloud cover will then gather up Friday night into Saturday as an area of low pressure approaches from the southwest. Quick to follow will be the opportunity for a scattered light rain showers. Chances will be best late Saturday night into the early stage of Sunday. The rest of Sunday will be dry but cloudy, with highs peaking in the upper 50s.
