As of 8:30PM, light rain was lifting through the Stateline. However, this will be the highest coverage of the night. Drier air is already pushing in from the West and will bring an end to the steady showers by around Midnight.
The steadiest of the showers look to remain mostly in NE Illinois, but dry air will bring an end to that toward Midnight. An isolated sprinkle may remain possible into the overnight hours, along with the possibility for some patches of fog and drizzle.
We look to remain mostly dry through Sunday morning, but as the core of this weather system passes just North of us in Central Wisconsin, it will produce another round of light rain into Southern Wisconsin. How far South that field of precipitation is still a bit uncertain, but chances for afternoon showers will be lower the further South you are from the state line.
Behind that rain, it may be a bit breezy Sunday afternoon, with peak wind gusts nearing 30 mph from the Southwest and then West. The strongest winds will not last very long, with gusts back below 20 mph at 5PM.
Sunday will be similar to Saturday temperature-wise as the isolated showers push out by early afternoon. Monday will be another breezy day, but this time from the Northwest behind a morning cold front. That will lead to the afternoon high being reached early on. Monday night may see some spots near the low 30s for overnight lows. Tuesday will be a bit cooler but sunnier. Our next chance for light showers arrives Wednesday.
