Weather Update

6:15am Update: Snow will continue to fall through the morning hours across parts of Wisconsin and Illinois. Please remember to be careful on the roads if headed out early.  Roadways may remain slick until this afternoon.  What's interesting with this system is that the main surface low pressure system is actually across parts of southern Missouri and a trough of low pressure lifts northward from the low into Iowa and southern Minnesota.  So a lot of the forcing with this snow is coming more from the upper levels of the atmosphere rather than at the surface. -CK

Midnight:  Reports close to 6" of snow have now fallen in Dubuque so far, so going forecast will remain generally unchanged.  Still looking at generally 3"-8", with the heaviest still occuring west of Rockford.  Roads will remain slick through the overnight, so please use caution if heading out.  If you have any snow totals or pictures you can send them to weather@wtvo.com. When taking snowfall measurements, use either a yard stick or ruler on a flat surface and be sure to take the average of at least 4 or 5 different locations.  Please include your name, time of measurement and you location.
