Drought conditions expand across the Midwest

The National Drought Mitigation Center released the latest drought monitor Thurday morning and it indicates drought conditions have worsened across the Midwest; especially in central Illinois, Indiana and Missouri.  As of right now the rainfall deficit stands at 2.75" for the month of June and 4.84" since the beginning of January.  On average the month of June accumulates 4.65".  Comparing this year to the same time last year and we had 3.34" in the bucket.  Rainfall is in the forecast for the weekend but it doesn't look near enough to make up for what we need.
