Just a Chance of Rain

An area of showers and thunderstorms over southeast Iowa continues to move east generally just south of Interstate 80. Individual showers within that area are trending toward the southeast. Overnight skies will remain cloudy across the Stateline with a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing into the area. However, there will be a better chance to the south of the Rockford area. The low will be in the low to middle 60's. It will be partly cloudy and warm on Sunday with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible through late afternoon. The high will be around 87 degrees with southerly winds shifting to the north in the afternoon following cool frontal passage. Skies will become mostly clear on Sunday night, and it will be breezy and cooler with an overnight low in the middle 50's. A nice bubble of Canadian high pressure will settle across Lake Superior into the Upper Penisnula of Michigan on Monday making for a very pleasant day.  It will be sunny with blue skies, a breeze from the northeast, and the afternoon high temperature will be around 78 degrees. With clear skies on Monday night it will be quite cool for this time of year with a low in the low 50's.  At daybreak on Tuesday morning the high will be centered near Milwaukee, and we will have another beautiful sunny day with light winds, comfortable humidity, and a seasonal afternoon high in the low 80's.  The high will shift quickly off to the east allowing a warm front over the plains to push across the Stateline early on Wednesday morning.  Southwesterly winds following in behind the warm front will boost the temperature back into the low 90's on Wednesday afternoon.  Scorching heat will push temperatures  into the middle to upper 90's on Thursday.  A cool front could scatter some showers and thunderstorms across northern Illinois on Friday and Friday night.  It will be mostly sunny and cooler on Saturday with a high in the low 80's.
