Heavy Rainfall Expected Monday Morning

Rain showers will increase not only in coverage, but also in intensity across the Stateline by Monday morning with the arrival of a warm front.  Low pressure will quickly strengthen through the night helping to draw an unseasonably high amount of moisture northward during this time.

The rain has become a little more widespread across parts of Iowa and Missouri Sunday evening, with a few light showers developing closer to southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.

Light, to at times moderate, rain will be ongoing through Monday morning and continue into the early afternoon.  Rainfall totals will range from half an inch, up to an inch in some locations.  Drier air will move in by the afternoon which will turn most of the steady rain to drizzle by the evening.

Minor flooding will be possible, especially in areas that do end up receiving some of the higher
rainfall totals.  Ponding of water on the roads, back yards and ditches will be possible by late Monday morning.  So take it slow during the morning commute.
